From COO to Called: My Journey from Career Woman to Faith-Led Mom Blogger

Hi, I’m Kelley—and welcome to Dare 2 Roar! I’m so glad you’re here.

After years of nudging, journaling, praying, and yes—overthinking—I’m finally starting this blog. This space has been on my heart for a long time. It’s more than just a blog—it’s a piece of my story, a place to share the highs, the heartbreaks, and the holy in-between.

After a decade of serving as a COO in the medical industry, I left my career to become a stay-at-home mom and faith-led blogger. I swapped meetings (that should have been an email) for baby snuggles, corporate growth strategies for spiritual growth, and I’ve never looked back.

This blog is for the women who feel called to more—but aren’t quite sure what “more” looks like. It’s for ambitious moms, faith-filled go-getters, and women who’ve had to fight for every inch of progress. You’re not alone—and your comeback starts now.

Grab a coffee (or reheat it for the third time), and let’s chat like old friends.

Why I Finally Started This Faith-Based Blog for Women

For the past five years, I’ve toyed with the idea of starting a blog. I’d get excited, map out topics, maybe even buy a domain name… and then do nothing with it.

But something about this year—this season—felt different. I felt a stronger pull to finally share my journey out loud. Not just the polished parts, but the hard, gritty, life-altering pieces too.

Some people have asked me, “Isn’t blogging dead?” Maybe to some. But for me, this blog is both an outlet and a ministry. It’s for the woman who feels stuck, unseen, or unsure how to take her next step. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.

My Journey from Career Woman to Stay-at-Home Mom

As of today, I’ve been married for just over 2 1/2 years (married Jan 2023). I have two amazing kiddos—with, wait for it…. a 16-year age gap! Yep, you read that right.

I had my daughter at 20 years old, raised her as a single mom for 12 years, and thought that season of my life was over. Just after her 14th birthday, I met my now-husband—and a few years later, at 35, I became a mom again. My son is now nearly 1.5 years old, and my daughter is about to turn 18. Life is wild!

In December 2024, I made a bold decision to leave my corporate career and stay home full-time with my son. I thought, “I’ll launch my blog and possibly earn some income through affiliate marketing while being present with my family.”

Well, it’s now the end of July 2025—and this is my first post. 😅 But hey, I started! That’s something, right?

When Faith Changed Everything

I grew up in a tiny town called Cowiche, Washington. After high school, I played college soccer and basketball—until my life shifted unexpectedly with the birth of my daughter in 2007.

Fast forward several years and we moved to Boise, ID in 2011 so I could go to college at BSU. In the midst of all of that, I found Jesus and have been living my life on fire for Him since 2010. That fire has shaped every part of my life, from parenting to finances to the woman I’m becoming.

Healing, growth, purpose, and identity—these have all come from my relationship with Him. It’s not about religion—it’s about a deeply personal transformation and relationship.

Let’s Talk Affiliate Links (Transparency First!)

You’ll notice links in some of my posts—yep, those are affiliate links. If you click one and purchase something, I may earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you!).

I only share what I’ve personally used and truly love. Think of it like me handing you my favorite water bottle or planner and saying, “Girl, you need this in your life.”

That little commission helps support my family and gives me time to write, so thank you in advance if you ever decide to click and support!

I Wrote an Ebook to Help Women Reclaim Their Life

In addition to launching this blog, I recently wrote my very first ebook!

It’s a short but powerful read where I share what it looked like to build a life I was proud of as a mom, career woman, and daughter of God. I talk about mindset shifts, faith, goal-setting, and letting go of limitations.

I’m Not an Expert—Just a Woman with a Story

I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, CPA, pastor, or financial advisor. I’m a real woman who’s walked through some fire, come out stronger, and wants to share what I’ve learned along the way.

Take what blesses you, research the rest, and always trust your own discernment.

Let’s Roar Together

Thank you so much for being here. I’m truly honored.

Whether you’re in a season of rebuilding, rediscovering, or just surviving—I see you. I hope this space inspires you to get honest, get aligned, and get after the life God created you for.

Let’s dare to live boldly. Let’s Dare 2 Roar—with faith, courage, and consistency.

💛
Kelley
